Processing Materials Other than PCB
When fabricating materials other
than PCBs, there are following prominent examples:
A. Counter boring, curving out, fabricating
surface of materials with approximately 3mm thickness
Samples
This is capable with general prototyping machine.
However, the user is required to
set and adjust the projection of the tool bit (milling
depth) manually for counter boring
and curving out.
B. Counter boring, curving out, fabricating
surface of materials with approximately 20mm thickness
Samples
C. Fabricating thick materials with 2.5-dimensional
method

When the thickness of material
is fairly thick, it is necessary to check
if there are enough spaces for the material
to be placed in between the tip of the tool
bit and machine tables (Z axis strokes). Please
check "Maximum thickness of processed material"
under the specification for each machine. |

It is also necessary to have
the "Stepping Milling Method" function on
the prototyping machine. (Read
more) The point to perform such a fabrication
is whether the Z axis can be numerically-controlled
or not. |
